Description

No. 34 Elm Grove is a detached villa built around 1836. It features a stucco exterior with a cornice and blocking course. The building is double-fronted, consisting of two storeys and a basement, with three bays and a one-storey, one-window extension to the left. The outer windows are set in slightly projecting bays, each topped with pediments and cornices. The entrance is flanked by Ionic columns that support an entablature, leading to a recessed door with margin lights and a plain oblong overlight. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set in stucco-lined reveals; the ground floor windows include margin lights, while the central window on the first floor is located in a slightly recessed bay. A wide, moulded string course runs along the first-floor sill. The interior has not been inspected.
