Description

Number 5 is a house with attached railings, built around 1820 to 1850, with later additions and alterations. The structure is made of stucco over brick, featuring a concealed roof and a stack at the left end, along with iron railings. It has a double depth plan with a service range at the rear.

The exterior consists of three storeys and a basement, with three first-floor windows. The windows are 6/6 sashes where original, with the ground floor windows being taller and set in plain reveals with sills. The ground floor also includes a canted bay with casement windows. The entrance, located on the right, features a Doric pilastered porch with a frieze and cornice, leading to a four-panel door topped with a fanlight that has glazing bars.

Inside, the house is reputed to have marble fireplaces, embellished cornices, and a Regency narrow-open-well staircase. The property also includes lancet area railings and railings on the sides of the porch.
