Description

Number 6 is a house with attached railings, built around 1800, with alterations from the mid-19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed of brick with a rendered basement, features painted ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof with two side wall stacks. The building has a basement lintel band, ground floor and first-floor sill bands, a first-floor band, dentillated wooden eaves, and coped gables. It stands three storeys high plus a basement and has a three-window range. Most windows have keystone lintels, with two plain sashes on the ground floor and a small 20th-century casement to the right. Above, there are two six-pane sashes and another small 20th-century casement to the right. The ground floor features two plain sashes to the left and a wooden doorcase with engaged Doric columns and a dentillated pediment, which holds a 19th-century half-glazed door and a plain fanlight. The basement includes an altered glazing bar sash, and outside, there are plain wrought-iron area railings.
