Description

Numbers 2 and 3 are two houses with attached railings located on Jarratt Street in Kingston upon Hull. They were built in the early 19th century, with alterations made around 1880 and in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of brick with a rendered basement and feature painted ashlar dressings. They have a slate roof with a single ridge and a single side wall stack.

The buildings are three storeys high, plus a basement, and have a two-window range. Most windows have multi keystone lintels. On the ground floor, there are two plain sashes and between them, a small 20th-century casement window. Above, to the left, is a smaller plain sash window, and to the right, a 20th-century two-light casement. To the right on the ground floor, there is a plain sash window flanked by single wooden doorcases with Roman Doric engaged columns and dentillated pediments, each featuring a half-glazed door and a plain fanlight. To the left, there is a canted wooden bay window with a bracketed cornice and plain sashes. The basement has two 20th-century cross casements.

Outside, there are plain wrought-iron area railings with gates.
