Description

Number 20 is a house dating from 1790, situated on Albion Street in Kingston upon Hull. The building is constructed of stucco, with stone steps and a slate roof topped by a rendered gable stack. The design incorporates a rusticated basement and ground floor, with lintel bands marking the ground and first floors, and a wooden gutter supported by brackets. It is three storeys high, plus a basement, and features a two-window front. The upper floors contain two 12-pane sashes above, and two 6-pane sashes above that, all with moulded architraves. The ground floor has two 12-pane sashes, alongside a wooden doorcase with engaged Doric columns and a dentilated pediment, sheltering a fielded 6-panel door and fanlight. The basement is lit by two 12-pane sashes. Plain wrought-iron railings enclose the area and steps at the front of the house.
