Description
This is a house, later used as an office, built around 1790 and altered in the early 19th century. It is located on Albion Street in Kingston upon Hull and includes the adjoining property at No. 1 Percy Street. The building is constructed of stucco and brick with a hipped slate roof and two rendered side wall stacks. It has a plinth, a band marking the first floor, and a wooden gutter supported by brackets. The front facing Albion Street is three storeys high, plus a basement, and has a facade of two bays by four bays. The front has two 12-pane sash windows on the upper floors and two 9-pane sash windows above these. The ground floor has two 12-pane sash windows with panelled aprons. A 9-pane sash window and a half-glazed door are located in the basement. The left return, facing Percy Street, features a central round-headed 15-pane sash window above which is a similar 12-pane sash window. A central stucco doorcase with Ionic columns and a cornice surrounds a beaded 6-panel door with four glazed panels and an overlight. To the left are two 12-pane sashes on the lower floors and two 6-pane sashes on the second floor. An area railing made of cast iron is located outside, along Albion Street.
