Description
Number 24 is a house that has been converted into a shop and dental surgery, with attached railings. It was built in 1790 and altered in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The building is made of brick with a rendered basement and painted ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof and a single gable stack.
Architecturally, it features a basement lintel band, a ground-floor sill band, a first-floor band, and a wooden gutter supported by brackets, along with coped gables. The structure has three storeys plus a basement and a three-window range. Most of the windows are four-pane sashes with multi keystone lintels, while the second-floor windows are smaller. On the ground floor, there are two windows, and to the right, there is a wooden doorcase with engaged Doric columns and a dentillated pediment, featuring a fielded six-panel door and a fanlight. The basement has two 20th-century twelve-pane sash windows.
Outside, there is cast-iron railing surrounding the area and steps, which have spindle balusters.
