Description

No. 22 is a house that has been converted into a beauty salon, with attached railings. It was built in 1790 and has been altered in the mid and late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with an ashlar basement and painted ashlar dressings, topped with a slate roof that features a single gable stack. The basement is rusticated, and there are lintel bands at the ground and first floors, along with a first-floor band, wooden gutters on brackets, and coped gables. The structure has three storeys, plus a basement and attics, and a three-window range. Most windows have multi keystone lintels, including three 12-pane sash windows on the ground floor and three 6-pane sash windows above. There is also a box dormer with a single-pane window above. The ground floor features two 12-pane sash windows and a wooden doorcase with engaged Doric columns and a dentillated pediment, which frames a fielded 6-panel door and fanlight. The basement has two 12-pane sash windows. Outside, there are cast-iron railings leading to the steps and renewed railings in the area.
