Description

No. 72 is a house dating from the 1830s, located in Hardres Street, Ramsgate. The house is constructed of stock brick, with parts rendered, and has a slate roof. It is three storeys high with a basement. The ground floor is rusticated, and the building has a cornice parapet with a stack to the right. The upper floors feature two glazing bar sashes to the second floor and two French windows with rectangular fanlights and cast iron railed balconies to the first floor. All window and door openings have gauged brick heads. A bow window with two glazing bar sashes is present on the ground floor, with a half-glazed door to the right, set within a semi-circular headed surround. A glazing bar sash window is found in the basement. Simple iron rails are present to the steps, while the basement has 20th-century iron railings.
