Description

This is a mid-19th century house and shop pair located on Hardres Street, Ramsgate. The buildings are constructed of stock brick, with number 80 rendered and painted, and number 82 painted. They have three storeys and a basement, topped with a parapet and chimney stacks in the centre and to the right. The left-hand side of the upper floors has original sashes with vertical glazing bars; the second floor to the right has two replacement windows. The first floor features canted bays with sashes to the left and replacement windows to the right. The ground floor has shop fronts, with a central recessed glazed double door to number 80 and a single 20th-century glazed door to number 82. Number 80 also has a boarded door to the left, featuring a rectangular fanlight, and a glazed door to the right. Basement openings are situated in the centre of the building. The shop fronts are topped with fascias on pilasters. The presence of original shop fronts adds to the special interest of these buildings.
