Description
Earl St Vincent is a public house located on King Street in Ramsgate. It was built in the early 19th century and underwent alterations later in the 19th century. The building is rendered and features a slate roof. It has two storeys divided into two levels, with a hipped roof to the left and chimneys positioned to the left and centre left.
On the first floor, there are four sash windows set in moulded surrounds. The ground floor is pilastered and includes three frosted plate glass windows with panelled aprons, as well as two half-glazed doors with rectangular fanlights. To the right, there are three windows and two doors, all with segmental heads. There is a basement opening located to the centre right. Inside, the pub has panelled interior partition walls.
Originally, in 1814, the pub occupied only the right half (No. 99) before expanding later in the 19th century into a former corner shop. The establishment is marked as the Earl St. Vincent public house on Collard and Hurst's map from 1822.
