Description

22 Bellevue Road is a terraced town-house built around 1830. It is constructed of stock brick in Flemish bond and consists of three storeys above a lit basement, which has its own entrance from the street.

The exterior facing east features two bays in a Georgian style. The main entrance is located on the south side, accessed by a flight of three stone steps. It includes a six-panelled door topped by a rounded fanlight with later 20th-century glass. The door case is adorned with fluted quarter-columns that support an architrave with a dentil moulding. On the north side, there is a bow window that projects beyond the basement wall, featuring three curved sashes with six-over-six panes, framed by Ionic pilasters. Below the bow window, the basement has a recessed sash window with six-over-six panes, accessible via stone steps from street level. The first floor has a pair of multi-paned French windows with margin glazing that open onto a balcony with simple 20th-century railings. The outline of a former balcony canopy can still be seen above, with a ramped profile. The third floor contains two sash windows, also with six-over-six panes, and all upper-floor windows have flat, gauged-brick headers. A stone parapet crowns the building, and the roof is hidden from view.

The interior was not inspected. The property also features metal railings with simple rails and four baluster finials, extending from the main entrance (via the three stone steps) to the top of the basement stair (via a rail-gate).
