Description
Elegant 3-storey Georgian townhouse forming part of a terrace. Of brown brick construction (Flemish bond) with (painted) sandstone quoins; slate roof with 2 brick chimneys. Four-bay facade with further narrow bay to the far L, formerly with passage leading to the rear and now reduced and with modern small-pane window. Central entrance with wooden doorcase having panelled pilasters and reveals and moulded pediment; 6-panel fielded door and rectangular overlight with marginal glazing. The ground and first floors of the main, entrance-flanking bays, have Venetian-type wooden windows. Those to the R are primary and have arched central sections with narrow flanking sections contained within an overall segmentally-arched opening. Those to the L are similar, though are contained within an advanced rectangular storeyed bay and have square heads. Sash glazing throughout, with intersecting glazing bars to central arched heads. The storeyed bay window has moulded stucco cornicing between the ground and first floors and to its flat roof. The remaining windows are 12-pane sashes, those to the first floor with cambered heads; projecting stone sills throughout. The bay to the far R has a large carriage arch to the ground floor. This gives access to the rear; segmental head.
Interior not inspected at time of survey.
