Description
This is a row of three houses located on Bellevue Road, Ramsgate, dating from the 1840s. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with a slate roof and have a basement, three storeys, a cill band, a cornice, and quoins at the right-hand end. Each house unit has two glazing bar sash windows on the second floor (six in total). The first floor features shallow, canted bays with tented verandahs, characterized by trellised piers, valancing, and heart and honeysuckle rails. Larger canted bays are present on the ground floor, each with a six-panel door featuring fluted Doric quarter columns and a flight of three steps. The basement windows are glazing bar sashes, with simple railings to the areas in front. The basement windows have simple railings. While sharing similar details with numbers 38-44 on Bellevue Road, which are slightly later, these houses, along with the Regency and Italianate terraces in Augusta Road and Victorian Parade, create an interesting group demonstrating stylistic changes in the mid-19th century.
