Description

This is a terrace of three houses built around 1820 in Ramsgate, Kent. The houses are constructed of stock brick with slate roofs, and feature a parapet and chimney stacks arranged from left to right. Each house is two storeys high with a basement. The ground floor has canted bays of slightly different sizes and patterns, with moulded and reeded surrounds. The first floor has cambered glazing bar sashes, a blank window recess, and a sash with glazing bars, all with matching surrounds. The front doors are six-panel affairs, with reeded panels and half-glazed upper sections. They are set within semi-circular surrounds, the central door featuring a fanlight. Basement windows are glazing bar sashes with a central half-glazed door. Simple iron railings enclose the front areas. The houses are shown on Collard and Hurst’s plan of Ramsgate from 1822.
