Description

This house, known as Admiral House, dates to circa 1818 and is located on the east side of Waterloo Road in Ramsgate. It is a two-storey building with a roughcast exterior and a slate roof. The design incorporates a cornice and parapet to the roof, with stacks positioned to the left and right. Two full-height, shallow bow windows project from the front, featuring three sliding sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and two on the ground floor. A central panelled entrance door is set within a double rebated surround and is topped by a semi-circular fanlight, approached by a flight of four steps. The house appears on Collard and Hurst’s 1822 map of Ramsgate.
