Description
The Camden Arms is a public house located in Ramsgate, dating from the early 19th century with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of stock brick and features a slate roof. It stands three storeys high with a basement, topped with a parapet and chimney stacks at both ends. The windows are arranged regularly, with three glazing bar sashes on the second floor and two on the first floor, all having rendered heads. The ground floor includes a tripartite sash window to the right and a bay window with a cornice and another tripartite sash to the left. At the centre, there is a recessed half-glazed door set within a panelled porch that has baluster pilasters, a large fascia, and a cornice, along with a wrought iron spandrel below that displays the name "Camden Arms." There are three steps leading up to the entrance, with basement openings located to the right. The pub is named after a former Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports and has been operating as a public house since at least 1841.
