Description

This is a terrace row, dating to around 1818, located on Alliance Square in Ramsgate. The buildings are constructed primarily of stock brick, with a portion rendered and the right return elevation in flint. The roof is slate. The buildings are three storeys and a basement, set upon a plinth with a cill band, moulded cornice, and parapet. Each house unit has two glazing bar sash windows on the second floor, with six bays in total. The first floor features two French windows in moulded surrounds, set within a 20th-century gauged elliptical recessed verandah with railings shared by all three houses. The ground floor windows project and are rendered, with recessed round-headed margin light glazing bar sashes at numbers 10 and 12, and a sash window at number 11. Projecting brick doorways are located on the left and paired in the centre right, each with boarded doors and semi-circular fanlights. Basement openings are situated beneath the windows. Originally, this terrace was joined to numbers 4, 5, and 6, now separated by 20th-century houses rebuilt in the same style.
