Description

A pair of houses with a shop, dating from the 1830s, located in Ramsgate’s Adelaide Gardens. The buildings are constructed of stock brick, with parts rendered, and have a tiled roof. They are three storeys high with a basement, and feature parapets and stacks centrally and to the left.

Number 13, on the left, has a sash window with intact vertical glazing bars on the second floor, with a painted head. It includes a canted oriel window on the first floor with a cornice. There is a late 19th-century plate glass shop front with scrolled brackets to the fascia. A half-glazed door and a rectangular fanlight are located to the left, along with a basement grill.

Number 12, on the right, features a glazing bar sash window on the second floor, alongside a two-storey canted bay with glazing bar sashes on the first floor, sashes on the ground floor, and cornices. A panelled door with a rectangular fanlight is positioned to the right, with a basement grill below. A railed area, with spearhead rails, sits in front of the bay.
