Description

A pair of shops, later converted into houses, dating from the mid-19th century. The buildings are constructed of red brick with moulded brick cornices and have a slate roof with brick ridge stacks. They form an L-shaped plan and are three storeys high, with a three-window front. The pair features good contemporary shop fronts; each includes a six-panelled door with an overlight containing glazing bars, projecting windows with glazing bars, wood pilaster strips with simple incised ornament, and a fascia. A central window is also present. The sashes have gauged brick flat arches above them. Lower windows on the second floor feature painted wood lintels. The return side of number 18 has a single window on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
