Description

Numbers 90 and 92 on George Street in Kingston upon Hull are two houses that now serve as an art gallery, with attached steps and railings. They were built around 1820, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The exterior features painted rusticated stucco and a slate roof, with a single coped gable and a gable stack. There is a basement string course, bands at the ground and first floors, and a wooden gutter. The building stands three storeys tall, plus a basement, and has a two-window range of 20th-century casements with keystone lintels. Above these are two smaller plain sash windows with rusticated lintels.

On the ground floor, to the left, there is a wooden doorcase supported by Tuscan columns, topped with a dentillated pediment, featuring a renewed six-panel door and a fanlight. To the right, there is a late 20th-century single pane shop window. The basement has a single pane 20th-century shop window with a door to the right. The exterior includes stone steps with wrought-iron balustrades, as well as wrought-iron area railings and a gate, complemented by three obelisk-shaped stone piers.
