GV II

House, now flats and attached railings. c1824, with later additions and alterations. Pinkish-brown brick with painted stucco facades and Welsh slate roof with cast-iron railings. 3 storeys with basement, 3 first-floor windows, with extension set back to right. 4 steps to central entrance a 2-panel door with overlight with glazing bars within distyle Ionic porch with engaged Doric pilasters, frieze, cornice, blocking course. 3/3 sashes. First floor has 8/8 sashes with sills and plain reveals. Frieze, cornice, low parapet, end stacks. Basement has glazed doors and casements. Garden facade has continuous ground-floor verandah with slender scrolls and two 12-pane French windows. Tall, 8/8 stained glass staircase window with margin lights. INTERIOR: noted as retaining original plasterwork and joinery including shutters to some windows. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: lancet railings to side have newels with urn finials.
