Description
Lawn House and attached railings is a house dating from around 1820 to 1850, located on the south side of London Road in Cheltenham. The building is constructed of stucco over brick, featuring a concealed roof and a painted brick ridge stack.
The house has three storeys above a basement and includes three first-floor windows. Notable stucco detailing includes a band at the second floor and tooled architraves around the windows. The ground floor windows have a frieze and cornice supported by console brackets, while the first-floor windows are cambered-arched with sills on feet. All windows are 1/1 sashes, with the upper floors having cambered designs.
The entrance is on the left, accessed by a flight of roll-edged steps leading to a part-glazed door, which has margin-lights between side-lights and an overlight with glazing bars. The rear of the house retains 6/6 sashes. Inside, there is a further six-panel door with an overlight featuring batwing and circle glazing bars, although the interior has not been fully inspected.
The property also features spearhead railings alongside the steps and across the basement.
