Description
Formosa House is a house dating to approximately the 1820s and 1850s, located on Northfield Terrace in Cheltenham. The exterior is stuccoed over brick, with a concealed roof and a renewed brick stack at the rear. It is two storeys high with three windows on the first floor. Stucco detailing includes a first-floor band, a crowning frieze and cornice, and a blocking course. The windows are 6/6 sashes, with the first-floor window on the left side being blind; they are set in plain reveals with sills. The central entrance has a five-panel door, where the lower panels are flush while the upper panels are raised and fielded, accompanied by a fanlight with radial glazing bars. A lion mask knocker adorns the door. A full-height bow to the left return features two 6/6 sashes which curve on section to each floor. The interior was not inspected. Subsidiary features include two window boxes to the first floor with a scroll motif, and a similar window box to the rear.
