Description
Nos. 127-133 on Fairview Road is a terrace of four houses located on a corner site, built around 1806 to 1833. The houses are constructed of brick with stucco facades and feature slate roofs. There is a brick party-wall stack with a cornice situated between Nos. 129 and 131.
The terrace is two storeys high and has eight first-floor windows, with the first window located on the left return and the second at the rounded corner. The stucco detailing includes a rusticated ground floor, except for the left return, with voussoirs drawn over the openings, a first-floor band, tooled architraves to the first-floor windows (except for the left return), sills throughout, a frieze, cornice, and a blocking course. The windows include a blind opening on the first floor to the left, followed by an 8/8 sash window at the corner, which is curved in section, and otherwise 6/6 sashes where original. There is a 19th-century wide shop front on the ground floor at the corner, featuring a tooled architrave with an incised Greek key motif and 20th-century multi-pane glazing.
The entrances are located to the left, right, right, and left, featuring four-panel doors (with No. 129 being part-glazed) and fanlights with radial glazing bars, except for No. 133, which has a part-glazed door with an overlight.
The interior has not been inspected. Fairview Road was developed from around 1806, occupying part of open fields that were enclosed by an Act of Parliament in that year to allow for development as building land.
