Description
Nos. 9-12 on Bridewell Lane is a terrace of four houses built in the early 18th century. The houses are timber-framed, with Nos. 9 and 10 finished with render, No. 11 with roughcast, and No. 12 featuring applied brickwork. They have pantile roofs and are three storeys high with cellars. The end wall on the south side has rubble flint at the ground and first storey levels, indicating that the top storey may be an addition. There is an internal chimney with a tall, narrow rectangular rendered shaft located between Nos. 10 and 11. The terrace has a four-window range, with small-paned two-light casements on Nos. 9 and 10, various 20th-century windows on No. 11, and early 20th-century cross windows on No. 12. All ground and first storey windows feature moulded architraves and cornices, and the doors are paired, also with moulded architraves and cornices. The interior has not been inspected.
