Description

Westborough Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, with a possibly earlier wing on the left end. The building is colourwashed and rendered, featuring a slate roof that is gabled at both ends of the main block. There are rendered shafts for the end stacks on the main block and an end stack and axial stack for the wing.

The farmhouse has a double-depth plan that is two rooms wide, with a central entrance. The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-by-three window front. The main block features a half-glazed porch in the centre with a hipped roof and two-light 20th-century timber casements with glazing bars. The wing has a scantle slate roof, with two ground floor six-pane sashes to the right and three first floor two-light casements with glazing bars.

The farmhouse is located on a prominent roadside site at the entrance to the village and has group value with the courtyard of farm buildings to the east. The interior has not been inspected.
