Description
Jacklands Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with likely earlier origins. It features whitewashed rubble with rendered sides and a pantiled roof that has brick ridge and gable stacks on the right. The building is two storeys high and has three windows, all of which are 16-pane sashes set in exposed boxes with segmental heads. The second bay from the left includes a 20th-century gabled glazed porch with an inner door in a plain frame. To the left, there is a single-storey lean-to that has a three-light metal-framed casement window.
On the right side, the first floor has a sash window in an exposed box, and there is a single-storey rear wing that features a buttress and a half-glazed door, along with a door to the rear gable end and a blocked upper opening. The inner side of the rear wing has a three-light casement window and a door with strap hinges. The rear of the farmhouse has a catslide roof and possibly an original rear passage door with a segmental head, along with a single light window to the right and a three-light casement window with a segmental head to the left. The interior is not accessible, but the internal doors have strap hinges.
