Description
West Kilton Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, possibly incorporating an earlier dwelling that was enlarged in the late 19th century. The building is rendered over random rubble and features a moulded plinth and a slate roof with overhanging eaves on the facade, along with coped verges at the rear of the main block. The right gable end has two circular brick-dressed openings and brick stacks on both gable ends. The farmhouse has a double pile plan with a lower, independently roofed service wing to the right and a later wing at the rear. It is two stories tall with three bays on the left and one bay on the right. The windows include 12-pane sash windows and an arched window on the first floor center above an arched doorcase, which has panelled reveals and a leaded fanlight. The door is a six-panel design with an early 19th-century urn-type knocker. To the right, there is a three-light casement window on the first floor and a two-light window on the ground floor next to a 20th-century plank door. The interior has not been viewed.
