Description

Putsham Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th to 17th century, with an extension added in the 18th century. It features a central 20th-century porch. The building is roughcast over cob and has a steeply pitched double Roman tile roof, with brick stacks located at the left gable end and between the first and second bays on the right. The layout suggests it may have originally been an open hall house, which was later ceiled and extended by one bay on the right, with an additional wing added at the rear.

The farmhouse is two storeys high and has four bays. On the first floor, there are 17th-century four-light ovolo moulded mullioned windows, with similar three-light windows in the outer bay on the right, which are early 19th-century leaded casement windows with quadrant stays. The ground floor features 17th-century four-light ovolo moulded mullioned windows flanking the entrance, and a segmental-headed 19th-century casement window in the outer bay on the right. The entrance has a 20th-century plank door. The farmhouse is reputedly constructed using jointed cruck techniques.
