Description
Townsend Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with later enlargement in the 19th century. The building features roughcast over cob, a slate roof, and brick stacks at the gable ends and above the entrance. It has a lobby entry plan and an outshut at the rear that has been enlarged to two storeys. The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of four bays, with three- and four-light octagonal mullioned casement windows, one of which has been renewed and is located to the left of the entrance. The entrance is in the second bay on the right and features a partially glazed door, along with a 20th-century hipped slate roof porch supported by wooden piers. The left return wall was rebuilt in the late 19th century.
