Description

The Cheverell Memorial is a floor slab memorial located in the churchyard against the north wall of the tower of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the late 16th century and is made of blue lias stone, lightly plastered, standing about 2 meters high. The memorial features a coat of arms and an inscription dedicated to Isabell Cheverell, who died in 1590, and her daughter Jane Luttrell, who died in 1627. It was likely removed from the church during a restoration in the 19th century.
