Description
Fleed Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The building is constructed of rendered cobb and features a corrugated iron roof and brick stacks. It has two storeys and is arranged in a 1:3:1 bay configuration, with the centre bay slightly projecting forward. The windows are irregularly placed 20th-century casements, and there is a 20th-century glazed porch on the left outer bay of the central block, with a plank door located at the extreme right. Inside, the farmhouse reveals three exposed jointed crucks and a wind brace, along with smoked blackened timbers in the roof. A notable feature is the fine, deeply moulded panel ceiling to the right of the cross passage, which is bisected by a rear passage wall. The beams are stop-chamfered with run-out stops.
