Description
Bridge House is an early 19th-century house located in Combeinteignhead. The building is whitewashed and rendered, likely made of stone, with a bitumen-painted slate roof that has gabled ends and crested ridge tiles, along with end stacks. The layout is an L shape, featuring a single-depth main block that is two rooms wide, with a central entrance leading into a passage that contains the stair. There is a rear right wing that is at right angles to the main block.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-bay front. The central entrance has a 19th-century front door with glazed panels and a lattice porch. The windows are 19th-century timber casements with small panes, with two on the ground floor and three on the first floor, the central window being slightly smaller. Although the interior has not been thoroughly inspected, it retains some 19th-century joinery, including a stick baluster stair. The house is situated on a prominent corner site in the village.
