Description
Morden Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of slatestone rubble with stone dressings and features a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, along with gable end stacks that have brick shafts.
The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance. The principal rooms are located to the front right and left, while shallow service rooms are at the rear. The exterior is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. On the ground floor, there is a central plain door with a gabled hood, flanked by three-light 8-pane casements on either side, which have cambered stone heads and dripstones. The first floor features two-light 8-pane casements on the right and left, with a central blind window that is painted to resemble a two-light casement.
On the left side of the farmhouse, there is a wide external stack and a two-light 8-pane casement at both the ground and first floors, which have flat stone arches and dripstones. There is also a single-storey lean-to with a stack at the rear left, while the right side has an external stack. The rear and interior of the building were not inspected.
