Description
Nos. 2, 3, and 4 Sun Lane are a row of three former artisans' houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of painted stucco and feature slate roofs, with a double-depth plan.
The houses are two storeys high, each with a one-window range. No. 2 has 6/6-pane sash windows on the right and a 20th-century door on the left. No. 3 features late 19th-century plate-glass windows on the left and a 20th-century door on the right. No. 4, which is on a projecting corner, has moulded forward frames surrounding a 6/6-pane sash window on each floor of its north-facing facade, while the left side has 20th-century windows and a door.
The earliest date mentioned in the deeds for No. 4 is January 1, 1777, suggesting that this row may date from that time. The houses also have group value with those located in Teign Street.
