Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Warren Hill are a pair of houses that are part of a terrace comprising Nos. 1-8, built around the 1830s with later alterations. The houses are finished in stucco and have slate roofs that are gabled at the ends, with stacks featuring rendered shafts and moulded bands.
Each house has a double-depth plan, being one room wide, with front doors positioned towards the center. No. 1 features an early 20th-century shopfront, while No. 2 has an altered roofline. The exterior consists of two storeys and an attic, with each house displaying a two-window front. The front doors have overlights; No. 1's door is half-glazed, while No. 2 has a 20th-century replacement.
No. 2 retains an original shallow bow window on the ground floor, which is glazed with a 16-pane sash, along with two first-floor 12-pane sashes. No. 1 has a ground floor shop bay window with a hipped roof and small panes above the transom, plus two first-floor 12-pane sashes. No. 1 also features a probably original gabled dormer, while No. 2 has an unfortunate roof addition with two windows. The interior has not been inspected but may still hold interesting features.
