Description
The Teign Brewery Inn is a public house located in Teignmouth. It was originally built in the 18th century, with a shop front added in the late 19th century. The building features painted stucco with freestone coping on the parapet, cornice, and plinth, topped by a slate gambrel roof that covers two bays and includes a raking dormer positioned to the right of center. The structure has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, displaying a three-window range. Notably, the gambrel roof does not extend over the left-hand bay, which is slightly stepped forward and may have been added later.
On the first floor, the windows are 4/4-pane sashes with thin glazing bars. The shop front is flanked by pilasters that support a fascia and cornice. On either side of the recessed shop door, there are four-light windows, each with two panes and thin glazing bars, topped by segmental arches. The right side of the building features one 4-pane sash window and a 19th-century moulded timber hood on brackets. The interior of the ground floor has been altered.
