Description

This is an early 19th-century fish smoking hut located on Sun Lane in Teignmouth. The lower section is constructed of red sandstone rubble and held together with oak pegs, while the upper floors feature timber framing, weatherboarding, and a corrugated asbestos roof. The building has a rectangular plan, with a three-story block to the right and a two-story lean-to block to the left. A single five-light window is present on the ground floor to the left. A wide 19th-century planked door can be found on the left return, and a blocked loading bay is visible on the first floor of the right return. The interior has not been inspected. This building represents a significant survival of its type.
