Description
The building is a fish curing house, dating from around 1830, which has been enlarged throughout the 19th and 20th centuries to create an open courtyard. It is constructed from whitewashed brick and flint, topped with pantile roofs. To the west, there is a narrow two-storey gabled smoke-house from circa 1830, featuring a three-light ventilation window under the eaves with diamond mullions and an internal shutter. North of this smoke-house is a mid-19th century two-storey range that extends eastward, with the west end serving as a second smoke-house. The north side of this range has one three-light ventilation window on the ground floor and two similar windows on the second floor, along with a stable door entrance to the left. A two-storey range from the 20th century runs south from the east end. All ranges have gabled roofs. Inside, both smoke-houses contain a complete set of racks that are still in use, while the rest of the interiors feature 20th-century wall tiling.
