Description

Brook House is an early 19th-century house located on Ringmore Road, Shaldon. It is built with incised stucco and has a double-pitched slate roof with rendered stacks to the front gable ends and rear wings. The house follows a double-depth plan with a rear right wing. The exterior presents a symmetrical three-window facade. Features include a moulded coping to the parapet, a cornice band, and 6/6-pane sash windows to the first floor. A prostyle Tuscan porch shelters a six-panel door with a horizontal diamond-shaped pane in the overlight, and this is flanked by late 19th-century French windows. The rear return has a late 19th-century horned sash window, some 20th-century windows, and a planked door towards the rear. The interior was not inspected.
