Description
Pond House is an early 19th-century house located in Crawley. It is constructed of stucco with a slate roof and features a classical design. The building has a symmetrical front on the south side, consisting of two storeys and three windows. It has a low-pitched hipped roof and plain walls, which are accented by side pilasters, plain architraves above the upper windows, and large splayed bays with keys at the openings. The windows are sash types set in reveals.
A Tuscan porch, supported by two columns and two pilasters, features an entablature, with the sides now glazed and a half-glazed door at the front. A single-storey wing, added in the late 19th century, extends from the west side and has a hipped slate roof with casement windows. At the east end, there is a wall topped with a plain cornice, which has a plain doorway with a key and a boarded door. The chimney stacks are notable for their bold cornice cappings.
