Description
This is a row of three cottages built in the early 20th century. The front (north) displays an exaggerated Tudor style, with an irregular plan and elevation. The cottages are two stories high, but with some parts at one story and an attic. There are five gables of varying sizes; the two smaller ones on the west are set back and on different faces, while the other three are close together but still separate, with the central one being smaller. Large chimneys are irregularly placed, one featuring tapered sides set in front of a gable. The upper walls have exposed timber framing with curved braces and brick infill, although these elements are varied. The central group of gabled fronts juts out, and the ground floor is of brickwork. A small gabled dormer is set back on the east side. Windows are casements with leaded lights, and there are oriels supported by brackets in two of the middle gables. Two plain boarded doors are paired within a wide timber-framed porchway beneath a Tudor arch; the other door, leading to Chimney Cottage, is within a projecting porch. The rear elevation, despite setbacks on the west and projections on the east, is a plain two-story brick and tile construction with a regular arrangement of casement windows.
