Description

Oakdene is an early 19th-century house. It is stuccoed and has a slate hipped roof with wide eaves. The house is two storeys high and has four windows. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, set within moulded casings. The ground floor sashes extend almost to ground level, and there is a canted bay of sashes on the ground floor, slightly off-centre. A late 19th-century stuccoed wing is set back to the left. The right-hand end of the house is slightly bowed, with a first-floor round-headed sash and glazing bars. Below this is a porch with Tuscan columns supporting a lead-clad, domed hood with a moulded cornice, sheltering a fielded panel door and a semi-circular fanlight with glazing bars. To the right of the doorway is a single-storey wing containing a large, three-light sash window with glazing bars.
