Description
Hay House is an early 19th-century house constructed of squared stucco. It features a coved cornice and a parapet that conceals a double-hipped slate roof, along with late 19th-century brick chimney shafts. The house has a central staircase plan with a service wing and stands two storeys tall. The front facade is symmetrical with three bays and includes a porch supported by two Tuscan columns in antis. The windows consist of two 6-pane unhorned timber sashes with 20th-century moulded architraves. The left-hand side elevation also has three bays with windows similar to those on the front. The rear elevation is asymmetrical and features a tall stair hall window. The service range has three windows, including a tall timber sash window with 12 panes in each sash. Inside, the house has plain or simply-moulded cornices, panelled doors, window recesses, and a contemporary staircase.
