Description

Belle Vue is an 18th-century house with an early 19th-century bay. It is built of painted stucco with a slate roof (previously thatched) and rendered stacks to the gable ends. The house was originally designed with a symmetrical three-window front, and comprises a two-room plan with a rear right wing and a two-storey outshut to the rear. The exterior features 6/6-pane sash windows within forward frames, and a moulded hood on brackets above a half-glazed six-panel front door. A large, early 19th-century semi-elliptical two-storey bay covers the right-hand range, and incorporates 8/8-pane sash windows, a dentil cornice and a flat lead roof. Horizontal tiles projecting from the left side of the right-hand stack indicate that thatch extended to that height. The interior was not inspected. This building has group value in its setting.
