Description

Nos. 7-12 Twyford is an early to mid 19th century terrace block consisting of six houses. The buildings are constructed from red bricks in Flemish bond and have asbestos slate roofs, except for No. 7, which features a natural slate roof. Each house is double-depth and one room wide, with a staircase facing the door, and the terrace is arranged in mirror-image pairs.

The terrace stands two storeys high and has two-bay fronts. Nos. 10 and 11 include dormer windows in their attics. Nos. 7, 8, and 9 have painted brick fronts, while Nos. 11 and 12 are slightly recessed from their neighbors. The front doors of Nos. 8 and 11 are four-panel doors, with the top two panels of No. 8 being glazed. Nos. 9, 10, and 12 have six-panel doors with the top two glazed. Original coupled trellis porches are present at Nos. 11 and 12, as well as Nos. 9 and 10.

At the first floor, Nos. 7, 10, and 12 have two windows, while the others have one. No. 7 features 16-pane hornless sash windows and one 4-pane horned sash window. Nos. 8 and 9 have 16-pane hornless sash windows, No. 10 has plastic windows, No. 11 has 4-pane hornless sash windows, and No. 12 has 4-pane horned sash windows. The dormer windows at Nos. 10 and 11 are 4-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected but may retain interesting features.
