Description
Nos. 13-17 Bridge Street is a terrace of five houses built in the early 19th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers and feature slate roofs with brick ridge stacks. They have a double-depth plan and rise three stories with a six-window range.
Each house has a nine-panel door topped with a three-light overdoor, surrounded by panelled reveals and moulded wood surrounds, with straight hoods supported by shaped brackets. The doors alternate with canted bay windows that have 12-pane sashes at the front and 8-pane sashes on the sides, complete with moulded wood cornices and flat roofs; the bay windows at No. 13 have been altered in the 20th century.
The first floor features 12-pane sash windows, while the second floor has 9-pane sashes, all of which have rendered lintels decorated with incised keyblock patterns. The eaves project, with those of Nos. 15-17 positioned at a higher level than the others.
