BUCKINGHAM BOURTON ROAD (north side) Nos 5A and 5B

GV II House, formerly two cottages. Mid C18, with possible older origins, altered C19 and C20. Coursed squared limestone and red brick, C20 plain-tile roof, brick ridge and end stacks. Two two-unit plans; two-storey, four-window range. Roadside elevation has C20 door to right of centre with wood lintel, a C19 bay window to right with paired sash windows to front and narrow sashes to sides, otherwise twelve-pane sashes to ground floor and twelve- and sixteen-pane sashes to first floors with wood lintels. Portion to left of centre was formerly a separate cottage with entrance front facing yard to rear. On this side front and end wall of red brick in Flemish bond with central nine-panel door with reeded wood surround, panelled overdoor and straight hood on shaped brackets. Door is flanked by canted bay windows; blank window to first floor above door flanked by twelve-pane sashes with wood lintels. The other half is rendered to rear and has irregular glazing of sash and casement windows and small, square windows to ground and first floor centre. Each half has a flat-roofed roof dormer to rear.

INTERIOR noted as having spine beams.
