Description
This listing describes a pair of attached houses located at 1-2 Lyndhurst Road, built around 1840. The houses are stuccoed with a slate hipped roof featuring deep bracketed eaves and rendered stacks topped with yellow clay pots.
The design follows the Italianate style and presents a symmetrical 5-bay front facing southeast. The exterior is two storeys high, with windows framed in moulded architraves. The first-floor windows have bracketed cills and replacement sashes that do not have glazing bars, while the centre window is blind. On the ground floor, there are French casements with cornices. The entrances are located at the sides; No. 1 on the left features a porch with round arches, and No. 2 on the right has a side doorway within a coach house on the northeast side.
The interiors have not been inspected. This pair of stuccoed Italianate villas is part of a group of similar houses along Lyndhurst Road.
